`Deserts` for brass (14 winds), percussion (5), piano, and tape (1950—1954), (Varese)
The famous recording from the French premiere of Deserts by Varese, where the audience booed this ultra-avant-garde composition. According to some contemporaries, the scandal was only slightly inferior to the pogrom that occurred at the premiere of the Sacred Spring.
