`Lachrimae, or seaven teares figured in seaven passionate pavans, with divers other pavans, galliards and allemands, set forth for the lute, viols, or violons, in five parts`. A set of seven pavanes for five viols and lute, each based on the theme derived from the lute song `Flow my tears`.
It was published in London in 1604 when Dowland was employed as lutenist to Christian IV of Denmark.

2. Lachrimae Antiquae Novae (lat. Old tears renewed) is a harmonic parody of Lachrimae Antiquae.
3. Lachrimae Gementes (lat. Sighing tears)
4. Lachrimae Tristes (lat. Sad tears)
5. Lachrimae Coactae (lat. Forced tears) is a harmonic parody of Lachrimae Tristes.
6. Lachrimae Amantis (lat. A Lover`s tears)
7. Lachrimae Veræ (lat. True tears)
