He was in the service of the Medici court.
Operas written on his texts: `Daphne` (1598) and `Eurydice` (1600) by Jacopo Peri, `Eurydice` by G. Caccini (1600), `The Ball of Ungrateful Women` and `Ariadne` by Claudio Monteverdi (both 1608), `Daphne` Marco da Galliano (1608). Rinuccini`s poems were composed by Caccini, Sigismondo d`India, Monteverdi madrigals.
