Based on the farce of the same name by Fernand Crommelynck.
Jealous of his wife Stella, Bruno first locks her up, forces her to wear an ugly mask, and so on. But these measures are insufficient, as they only control reality, while fantasy (thoughts and dreams) is unaffected by such measures. Therefore, the hero prefers to transfer the possibility of infidelity to the realm of reality and demands that his wife commit adultery with individuals he specifies. The comedy`s denouement is the wife`s flight, convinced of her hopelessness. Erster Akt 1 Ouvertüre 2 Was Nun? 3 Ich Heiße Ludovicus 4 Mein Mann!
