Charles G. Dawes 1865--1951
The `Melody in A major` was written in Illinois in 1912 and became a well known violin and piano piece. Dawes was an American banker and politician who was the 30th Vice President of the United States Calvin Coolidge was President. The `Melody in A major` was therefore played at many official functions as his signature tune. It was later transformed into the pop song `It`s All In The Game` which has been recorded by numerous artists like Van Morrison Cliff Richard Nat `King` Cole Brook Benton Elton John Mel Carter Barry Manilow and Keith Jarrett.
