This opera, composed of various musical numbers interspersed with recited verses, includes the famous Smuggler`s Polo, one of the most widespread Spanish themes of its time, reused by Liszt in his fantastic rondo and also often quoted by literary authors such as V. Hugo in his novel `Beetle-Zhargal` or Federico Garcia Lorca in his work `Mariana Pineda`.
The composer`s daughters, Maria Malibran and Pauline Viardo-Garcia, used the Smuggler`s Polo in a performance of Rossini`s The Barber of Seville. Musical numbers: 1. Sinfonía 2.
