1. Rome – Palerme: Calme – Assez animé – Rome
2. Tunis – Nefta: Modéré, très rythmé
3. Valencia: Animé – Modéré – Mouvement du début

The first movement, `Rome-Palermo`, evokes the sights and sounds of these major Italian centers with a tune that matches the regional flair.
Tunis-Nefta brings sailors ashore in North Africa; timpani and pulsating strings create a hypnotic rhythm, while the oboe imitates the chromatic improvisations of local reed instruments.
`Valencia`, a seething dance scene, completes the suite with a vivid depiction of Spanish culture.
