`The idea for the poem arose when I, as part of the Mariinsky Theater orchestra, played the famous concert with Valery Gergiev on the ashes. I started working on the poem in October, when I found the material - it uses an Ossetian song. Completed in May. This is a 15-minute vocal-symphonic poem, it ends with a minute of silence. Thus, applause is inappropriate here.`(A.K.

This piece was written specifically for the Wiener Collage ensemble at the request of its director and conductor Rene Staar.
The work is based on the diaries of the great Russian writer Ivan Bunin during the Socialist Revolution in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. His text reflects the vision of the revolution in Russia through the eyes of the Russian intelligentsia, a sharply negative attitude towards it, the deepest anxiety for the fate of the motherland, despair and a sense of te
